There are no known Talysh-language churches. Most of the Talysh believers are scattered and isolated, and are not part of a local body of believers. Those that are a part of a fellowship are in Azeri or Iranian churches where they worship in a language other than their heart language.
Due to political and social circumstances, house churches are necessary. However, one of the realities of church planting in harsh persecution is believers do not trust one another easily. Also, there are many challenges to developing good servant leaders to pastor the churches. How can pastors be trained? If they are taken out of their context, many times they end up not wanting to return.
Pray strong, Biblical churches will form among the Talysh. Pray against heresies that might trickle in while the Bible is being translated, or where there are no mature leaders.
Pray for the identification and mentoring of church leaders to shepherd the flock.
Pray believers will build strong bonds of God-honoring trust and unity with one another, practicing their spiritual gifts and building up the Body of Christ.
“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ…” Ephesians 4:11-12
